Witch Wound Dream
The Dream
I was involuntarily put under hypnosis. Could still feel a sense of control however started noticing that through the depths of my subconscious, my hands started to dance in this way that they do whenever I’m channeling with Spirit or doing energy healing work. A trio of people were observing me under hypnosis. As soon as I realized my hands were dancing, I was like, “Oh no…no…NO! I can’t be seen like this!!!”
I was so afraid of people seeing me for who I truly am. I had so much fear within me about others witnessing me in my power. Because of that deep fear, I decided to wake myself up. LITERALLY. From sleeping. In dream context, I was so afraid that I wanted to wake myself up from hypnosis.
This dream was a direct way of telling me I have this witch wound. And this lifetime is when I can heal it. [ Read more dream interpretations here ]
What’s a Witch Wound?
The "witch wound" is a collective, intergenerational, psychic wound that goes back to historical witch hunts. Also known as the “Burning Times,” this was when thousands of innocent individuals were tortured, persecuted and/or executed in inhumane ways for accusations of practicing what was believed to be “malicious” magic.
Although this term was coined around the European and American witch trials, which limits to a specific pool of people, I encourage you to broaden who “witch wound” applies to. There has long been a marginalization of people suspected of having certain “powers.” Many indigenous communities were stripped of their wisdom traditions through invasive methods including colonialism, capitalism, imperialism, religious tyranny and the patriarchy, so the witch wound also applies in those contexts as well.
These traumatic experiences have left many people scarred, mostly those who identify or appear as a woman. These roots run deep after millennia of abuse, disempowerment and invalidation.
How to Know if You Have a Witch Wound
The intergenerational fear created by this oppression is so deeply embedded that we don’t just feel it in our individual bodies and psyches. It exists within the collective unconscious as well.
You likely have the witch wound if you struggle with embracing gifts around intuition, embodiment, collaboration, emotional intelligence and healing.
Common signs and symptoms of the witch wound:
Fear of speaking up and sharing your truth
Shame for being seen in your light and power
Hiding spiritual gifts and resistance to developing them
Feeling disconnected from the divine, wanting to establish connection and yet fear for doing so
Joyful and painful memories and/or dreams showing past lives as a pagan, witch, shaman, healer, mystic, energy worker, occultist or other spiritual archetype
Patriarchal culture has systematically invalidated such qualities that keep us connected to our divinity and spiritual DNA. Any time you have a fear for being authentic, which is literally your spiritual nature, this is the witch wound at work.
Why The Spiritual Community Keeps Mentioning Witch Wounds
Witch wound seems like a buzz word, but here's why this phrase is so relevant right now: the Millennial Pluto in Scorpio group is literally the generation reincarnated from lifetimes ago when those witch wounds were born AND we live in an age where we can't hide from this particular trauma. It's being mirrored to us HARDCORE.
The Pluto in Scorpio generation is unique in the sense that their collective work falls under exposing secrets and facing generational shadows. This group also has a lot of natural spiritual gifts, many of which are activated specifically in this lifetime for the purpose of empowering the collective towards more acceptance and integration of our spiritual nature into physical reality.
If the average human lifespan is about 80 years (CDC says 77.5), and you're around my age (35), then our last lifetime could have been early 1900s to late 1800s, at the latest. Think about the evolution of our society from the 1900s until now. 115 years of incredible technological progression.
At the same time, think about the popular/acceptable occupations between 1900s - 1980s. I'm not a historian, but from what I've been taught and learned, I'm not sure if there was a lot of talk about spiritual practitioners.
But today? There's been a huge boom in spiritual entrepreneurs especially in the last decade, coinciding with many other societal changes including social media. The nature of how most solopreneurs grow nowadays is through social media and technology. We've become so intertwined with "visibility" as a tool for success so no wonder why our witch wounds feel exposed!
Healing Your Witch Wound Matters Now More Than Ever
You may have noticed that witchcraft is modernly embraced as a self-empowerment and healing tool in some parts of the world. Although there’s a rise in adopting witchcraft, there are still many who shy away from such practices because they fear judgement, rejection, shame or mockery from others. As a result, many folks tend to keep their beliefs and practices sheltered away from public visibility.
Sadly, there are still modern forms of “witch trials” happening around the globe as “Big Pharma” and Western Medicine traditions become more prevalent in rural communities. As younger generations age into society, many are choosing to prioritize Western Medicine over indigenous wisdom traditions. This leaves a dangerous gap between elders and the next generation, contributing to what could be an erasure of knowledge in our lineages.
