Questions to Ask Yourself When Choosing Who In Your Life Gets To Stay or Has To Go

Feeling stuck on figuring out whether someone is healthy for you and part of your soul growth? Use this list of to ask big questions about how a person adds or detracts value in your life.

There are no right or wrong answers. These questions are meant to help you gain a level of awareness about the people you’re choosing to keep around.

  • Do they expect me to prioritize them? When they prioritize me, do they make me feel like an obligation or a celebration?

  • Are they actually ready to receive my level of love or am I projecting it onto them because I see potential?

  • Would I ever rely on them for advice? Are they open to giving me guidance and support?

  • How available are they for me? Am I OK with this access or do I need more?

  • Do I like them or do I just like the attention they give to me?

  • Do they like me or do they just like the quality/quantity of love I give?

  • Do I feel drained or energized after interacting with them?

  • How deeply have they met themselves? Am I available to witness their growth or have I outgrown them?

  • How connected are they to their body, emotions and thoughts?

  • Do they have capacity for compassion and empathy or are they stuck in their ego and emotions?

  • Are they clear on their own boundaries? Do they respect and value mine?

  • Is this relationship aligned with my truth? Are they comfortable with my truth or do they pass it off in conversation

  • Which topic do they focus the most on: growth or gossip? Development or drama?

  • Where do they source their validation or sense of self-worth from?

  • How do they handle hard conversations and difficult situations?

  • Do I feel safe, heard, held and witnessed around them?

  • How do they make my nervous system feel?
