I’ve been using the FULL Pacifica Pineapple Curls product line since November 2018 so if I’ve been using it for that long, it would only make sense that I do a review for it, right? My initial product from the Pineapple Curls line was the nourishing hair mask which my friend Tina got for me as a birthday gift. I initially wasn’t too keen on trying out Pineapple Curls because it didn’t have a styler, but the minute Pacifica added the curl cream to the line, I indulged and got everything!
If you’re not familiar with Pacifica, it’s a cruelty free brand and this particular line is 100% vegan. The focus on the Pineapple Curls line is that it hydrates and nourishes curly hair through hyaluronic acid, pineapple extract and super oils like coconut, argan and avocado. The shampoo and hair mask contain rice and quinoa protein.
Curl Defining Shampoo
I feel like the Curl Defining Shampoo is a cross between a clarifying cleanser and a low lather conditioning cleanser so if you need something that’s strong on your scalp without giving too much moisture, this shampoo can be your ally. If you’re really concerned about it not cleansing your scalp enough, do the double shampoo technique and that should do the trick.
Curl Defining Conditioner
The Curl Defining Conditioner, on the other hand, is pretty potent in terms of concentration. I feel like you only need to use a dime size at most in each section of your hair during both the in-shower conditioning process as well as during the styling process if you choose to use the Pineapple Curls conditioner as your leave in. The trick is to emulsify the conditioner in your hands first before you apply it to your ends. Whenever I apply the conditioner directly to my ends without emulsifying, I feel like I have to apply more of it to do its job.
Curl Nourishing Mask
The hair mask is for sure one of my favorite masks that I’ve tried. If you want a multitasker that’s going to deep condition your hair and provide moisture while giving you a lightweight protein treatment, the Curl Nourishing Mask can be your go-to. I don’t use this for more than 10-15 minutes in the shower. The bottle instructions say that you can use this as an overnight weekly treatment, but I haven’t given that a try so I’m not sure how transformative it can be. The main reason why I haven’t tried it as an overnight technique is because I don’t feel like my hair needs that much of a treatment to resort to that.
Curl Defining Cream
Similarly, to the conditioner, the Pineapple Swirl Curl Defining Cream is super concentrated so make sure that you use about a quarter of a dime of the product emulsified for each section of the hair and that should be enough. I especially love to use the cream on days when I want to do a super easy wash ‘n go instead of resorting to a diffuser. My hair turns out less frizzy with lots of shine. The bottle itself even says “for your dreamy, wavy hair” and I feel like it brings out the best out of my wavy curly hair!
I forgot to mention that this whole line is free of silicones, parabens and sulfates. And I have everything from this product line in this photo except for the curl nourishing mask! It makes my hair super soft, shiny and textured, but still gives a little bit of bounce where it counts.
