My Favorite Miss Jessie's Products For Wavy/Curly Hair A Second Glance On My Experiences Using Miss Jessie’s Products For My Curly Hair Journey

This post and topic was actually unintentional, but after I realized how much I like being able to use a brand’s full selection of products, specifically referring to my very recent experiences using a slew of Miss Jessie’s products for my curly hair journey, I thought I’d share insight on which products I love most and for which purpose.

A little backstory: I’ve used a couple of Miss Jessie’s products back in college way before I started to take my curly hair seriously. This was at a time when my straight hair transformed into curly and I was barely coming to the realization of that. I didn’t know anything about curly hair then, and didn’t have anybody to teach me.

The major difference is that now, I’m a lot more educated and aware of how to care for my hair than I was before. That’s what makes this post even more exciting to write because my perspective is 100% different and more positive, than from my previous experiences! Watch the video below or scroll down further for my experiences and recommendations using Miss Jessie’s on my curly hair.

Products From Miss Jessie’s That I’ve Tried For My Hair

Initial Thoughts On Multicultural Curls Cream

The Multicultural Curls Cream was one of the first products I picked up from the drugstore when I began my curly hair journey last year. To be perfectly honest, I assumed this would be a good cream for my hair because of it’s name. Yes, I judged a book by it’s cover. At first, I thought it was too heavy for my hair. However, as I began learning about different product application methods and how to refresh for next-day hair, I began to love the cream even more.

How I Style My Hair With Multicultural Curls Cream

To style my hair, I apply the Knot Today leave-in conditioner by Kinky Curly after I shower and then add in the Multicultural Curls Cream. I scrunch my hair with a t-shirt to dry out my hair as much as possible and then I air dry. To finish off the routine, I scrunch out any crunchiness in my hair and fluff up my curls.

Initial Thoughts On Multicultural Curls Clear

I briefly read on one of Miss Jessie’s Instagram posts that the clear gel is supposed to be part of a dynamic duo when paired with the curl cream so I had to get my hands on it just to see. The gel is incredibly lightweight and perfect for 2A-2C wavy curls. I like using this gel whenever I want my hair to look like mermaid waves or when I want to get the tousled, beach waves look.

How I Style My Hair With Multicultural Curls Clear

Much like how I style my hair with the cream version of this, I use the praying hands method to apply the product. To finish off the routine, I air dry then fluff out my curls.

Product Ingredients

Water, Polysorbate 20, Glycerin, Carbomer, PVP, Aminomethyl, Propanol, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Butane, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Sodium Benzoate

Initial Thoughts On Jelly Soft Curls

This is the product I was using when I started seeing better results in my hair during month three. I learned that my hair does respond well when I diffuse with low, warm heat when it comes to gel. What I love most about Jelly Soft Curls is that it gives me the definition I’m looking for and yet there is so much softness and flounce to my curls. Jelly Soft Curls is a stickier gel compared to Multicultural Clear, but still on the lightweight side.

How I Style My Hair With Jelly Soft Curls

The main difference between how I style my hair with Jelly Soft Curls compared to the other Miss Jessie’s products I use, is that I really like to diffuse with this product compared to any other one.

Product Ingredients

Water (Aqua, Eau), Polysorbate 20, Carbomer, Glycerin, PVP, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Aminomethyl Propanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Disodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein

Initial Thoughts On Pillow Soft Curls

Equally to my love for Jelly Soft Curls, I really love the cream version of it, called Pillow Soft Curls. It gives me the greatest definition compared to all of the Miss Jessie’s products I’ve used.

How I Style My Hair With Pillow Soft Curls

For superb curl definition, I like to apply this over a leave-in conditioner like Knot Today by Kinky Curly. I divide my hair in four sections when applying the product so that no curl gets left behind! Similar to the Multicultural Curls cream and gel, I prefer to air dry with Pillow Soft Curls as opposed to diffusing with it.

Product Ingredients

Water (Aqua), Emulsifying Wax NF, Glycerin, Amodimethicone, Behentronium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Methyl Gluceth-20 Hydroethylcellulose, Guar Hydroxypropyltrium Chloride, Phyenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Triticum vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Carthamus tintorius (Safflower) Oil, Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Citric Acid, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Silk Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein/PVP Crosspolymer, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Urtica dioica (Nettle) Extract, Equisetum arvense Leaf Extract, Chamomilla recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Althaea officinalis Root Extract, Agave americana Leaf Extract, Blue 1 (CI42090)

Initial Thoughts On Quick Curls

I was very curious to add this weightless spiraling creme into my beauty cabinet because of its promise to cut drying time due to its fast acting formula. Quick Curls is a lightweight styler exclusively blended with essence of ginger flower and lime fruit.

How I Style My Hair With Quick Curls

I love using Quick Curls for instances when I know I’m going to go on a hike or planning to be outdoors for a majority of my time. The reason is because I often leave it in overnight to dry as a braid or two-strand twist out then release my hair in the morning. This helps give definition to my hair without having to worry about waking up early to style it. Super fuss-free.
