Curly Hair Product Review
In my last curly hair product review, I mentioned that I’m beginning to take the deep conditioning process seriously. I’ve actually been using the Mixed Chicks ‘Deep Conditioner’ way before I began my curly Asian hair journey so I’m excited to share my perspective on this particular product with new lenses.
This deep conditioner is formulated with luxurious safflower oil. I’m learning that my hair loves this ingredient. The Miss Jessie’s ‘Multicultural Curls Cream’ is also made with safflower oil and my hair loves that product! That being said, this deep conditioner does well in nourishing my hair when it’s dry. Moisture is especially important now that I’ve moved to a new county where the environment is much drier.
Texture and Scent of Mixed Chicks ‘Deep Conditioner’
The consistency of this deep conditioner is thin and creamy. From the picture below, it does look very thick, but it turns out that the texture is billowy. There is a slightly bright, citrus scent to the deep conditioner, but nothing unpleasant.

How Much Should I Use And For How Long?
For those who have fine to medium curly hair between short and mid-length, use a quarter-sized dollop of the Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner. For hair that’s either thicker, drier, or longer, try a little larger than a quarter. This conditioner provides great slip. You should be able to glide your fingers easily to detangle hair. I would recommend that you leave it on for no more than 15 minutes and then rinse out.
If you were to use only a quarter-sized dollop of this deep conditioner once a week, it should last you for a whole year. I’ve read online from other retailers that this deep conditioner is ideal for daily use. I never had the chance to incorporate the Mixed Chicks ‘Deep Conditioner’ into a daily routine, but can only imagine how touchable my hair would be from using it!
