You may have seen this historic New York City townhouse…it has been featured in many editorials, commercials and campaigns for magazines, including Vogue’s August 2011 issue, as a backdrop for Sarah Jessica Parker’s editorial.
This space is not only lived in by Betsy Morgan and her family, but is also rented out to established publications that not only gives Morgan the opportunity to meet her favorite fashion photographers (such a clever idea), but also encourages her to re-arrange and design the space sporadically which justifies such an artful hobby.
A shoe closet that was originally to be plastered down (featured way above) and beautifully antique moldings add more of a story to how this space came together. Morgan identifies this space as “eclectic with clean-lined modern pieces combined with some antiques and more modern art” with most pieces given by family and artistic friends.
Morgan is also the New York editor for The Salonnierre, a website that celebrates the custom of hosting parties that encourage social networking, which alludes to how well the space is designed for hosting and living.
